Here are some other mentions of Altec in studios, including modern studios with Model 19's for playback monitors.

    Howard Albert's 9844s

Tore Johansson's Tambourine Studios Model 19 monitors

Tore Johansson's Gula Studio Model 19 monitors

Really Nice. A dual woofer setup has always been my first choice.
    Interesting read all the way.
This paragraph from the text really got my attention.

"Considerable care was taken to build an enclosure for the horn assembly
and properly isolate the TAD driver from the horn bell and align the
opening perfectly at the horn/driver intersect."

Has anyone here isolated their driver from the horn?
    I could suspect the reasoning............

Yes, Art, kinda odd the way he worded it. I suspect he is thinking of the driver/horn combo having a resonant frequency...I would likely have approached the problem with mass, he does not detail what he did.
Your neighbors called. They like your music.
